About Bodywork
-
Canine bodywork is hands-on therapeutic care that supports muscles, fascia, joints, and movement patterns. It helps release tension, improve mobility, support healing, and increase overall comfort in the body.
-
Massage is part of bodywork, but bodywork goes deeper. Each session includes observation of movement, identifying restrictions or compensation patterns, and applying techniques based on what your dog needs — not a one-size-fits-all routine.
-
No. Sessions are never meant to be painful. Some dogs may feel brief sensitivity in areas of long-held tension (similar to deep tissue work for humans), but I constantly read your dog’s body language and adjust pressure and technique in real time.
-
Veterinarians diagnose and treat medical conditions. My role is supportive — helping maintain comfort, prevent injury, and aid recovery alongside your dog’s existing care team. Bodywork complements veterinary care, it never replaces it.
Who Benefits
-
Absolutely. Preventative care keeps small issues from becoming big ones. Regular bodywork helps maintain healthy movement and comfort before problems arise.
-
Yes. Even couch connoisseurs develop tension, stiffness, and imbalances. Every body benefits from thoughtful care.
-
Many reactive dogs do wonderfully with bodywork. Sessions take place in your home, at your dog’s pace, with no unfamiliar dogs or environments. Gentle, consistent touch often supports nervous system regulation over time.
-
It’s never too late. Bodywork helps maintain comfort, mobility, and quality of life at every stage.
-
With veterinary clearance, bodywork can support post-surgical healing. Timing depends on the procedure and your vet’s recommendations.
Wiggly, Sensitive + “Difficult” Dogs
-
Yes. Many dogs need a few sessions to learn how to relax into this work. Wiggly, busy, cautious, or sensitive dogs are welcome here. Progress looks different for every dog.
-
Breaks are encouraged. Sessions are never rushed. We follow your dog’s comfort level and build trust over time.
-
Never. Your dog always sets the pace. Sessions are guided by their body language, comfort level, and nervous system that day. If your dog needs breaks, space, or to stop early, we honor that — no forcing, ever.
For dogs who need extra time, I also offer a complimentary, no-pressure meet-and-greet to build trust before the first full session.

Safety always comes first — for your dog, you, and me.
If there’s a bite history, we discuss it openly and create a plan. Muzzles are always welcome. Sometimes that means working slowly over time. Sometimes it means bodywork isn’t the right fit yet — and that’s okay too. -
Of course — for some dogs, this can make all the difference. I’m happy to offer a complimentary, no-pressure meet-and-greet within my standard service area where I simply come say hello, let your dog sniff me, offer a treat, and head out.
There’s no bodywork involved — just time to build familiarity and trust. Many dogs feel more relaxed in their first full session after meeting once in a calm, zero-expectation setting.

Some dogs are tired, drink more water, or feel slightly tender for a day — similar to humans after massage. This passes quickly.
-
Some dogs show changes right away. Others improve gradually. It depends on the dog and the reason for bodywork.
